Corte Madera Refresh At Pedersen Associates, we are excited to share the 'Corte Madera Refresh' a new landscaping that improves the natural beauty of a residential property located in Corte Madera. Our team welcomed the opportunity to rejuvenate the outdoor space in a way that would feel revitalized and contextually consistent with neighboring gardens within Marin County, while still reflecting the desires of the client. Sustainable design was at the forefront of our proposal without sacrificing sophistication. We selected a range of beautiful drought-tolerant plants, choosing native California species, including manzanita and California lilac, known for their impact on local biodiversity, color, and texture, as well as their tolerance for drought. Along with native plants, the included crafted stone trails made of local flagstone, connecting the areas of the garden together. These paths provided both the functional and aesthetic quality of moving visitors through the foliage and blooming beds of flowers. One of the challenges of this was the steepness of the property. Our experience and use of terracing techniques allowed us to maximize this tiered space with planting beds that aid drainage and ease of access. This added another layer of usable space and depth to the landscape design. The Corte Madera Refresh provided a beautiful outdoor sanctuary for the client that focused on maintenance, sustainability, and overall vision. The freshly landscaped yard will be popular amongst family and friends, particularly a seat surrounded by fragrant blooms. Our focus on quality detail will provide joy and solace for the client and their home for many years to come.
