DESIGN STUDIO Krause Haus by Austin Outdoor Design The Krause Haus combines nature and contemporary design right in the heart of West Lake Hills, created with precision by Austin Outdoor Design. We are here to present this beautiful landscape remodel that includes native Texas plants, sustainable materials and innovative outdoor living spaces that increase the aesthetic of the home while then cohabiting with the land nicely. Challenge: The site is a steeply graded lot that requires careful attention to drainage, but our design team knew how to make it work. We have constructed a system of terraced gardens with local stone retaining walls that are a functional feature as well as rustic beauty of the property. In addition to his passion for food, Wooten is renowned for his overseeding and planting of both aesthetic and edible plants on his restaurant grounds that help retain the soil, beautifying the patio areas in a colorful tapestry of drought-resistant plants ranging from Texas sage, blackfoot daisy, and ornamental grasses that flourish in the Central Texas climate. Another defining element of the Krause Haus landscape is the heated outdoor living space with a custom fire pit and seating, ideal for entertaining guests or simply enjoying peaceful clear nighs under the stars. We built the pergola using reclaimed wood and have used all eco friendly materials because we are a sustainable company and the layout maximizes our views of the beautifulness of the nature surrounding us. Another challenge we faced was to install a complex irrigation system that saves water without harming the garden. In conclusion the end product is a beautiful landscape that satisfies the clients idea but also increases the properties value and liveability. Krause Haus is a beautiful example of Austin Outdoor Design providing quality craftsmanship and unique landscaping ideas. Their clients are now enjoying comfortable and functional outdoor living space that is practical to their lifestyle, yet allows the natural beauty of their surroundings to shine through, a relaxing escape for years to come.
