In the heart of Naperville, the originated from the idea to create a modern architectural sanctuary that connects harmoniously with its natural surroundings. The client wanted a place that represented not just a gathering spot for the family but also an oasis from everyday life. We collaborated with the client and integrated a modern, geometric infinity-edge pool which visually blends onto the horizon. Long lasting, high-slip-resistance pavers of a soft graphite color serve two purposes in this backyardfirst, they contrast beautifully with the bright aqua of the pool; second, they provide a safe surface for kids and guests. The property sat on a bit of a slope, which is one of the challenges we had. Our experienced crew built retaining walls with natural stone to tier the landscaping, helping with stabilization and beautifying the area. DROUGHT-RESISTANT PLANTINGS of ornamental grasses and flowering perennials were clustered around the pool and patio to provide texture and color year round. We also added an outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill, stylish countertops, and a shaded pergola to enhance the outdoor experience and give the family a perfect way to entertain. Low voltage LED lighting is also used to light the pool area that adds that touch of magic to evening gatherings. The end-product is an understated fusion of contemporary architecture and natural splendour providing the family a year-round luxury escape in the heart of nature. Upon completion, the client was thrilled to have a beautiful outdoor space that is both a reflection of her style and a contributor to her lifestyle.
