Content: Food Forest, Glasshouse, Orchard, Outdoor Dining Room We are excited to share our most recent with you the 'Edible Landscape, Greenhouse, Orchard, and Patio,' where a standard yard was converted into this colorful paradigm of family and functionality! at HomeHarvest Edible Landscapes and Construction This is located in central Newton, and because we are committed to quality craftsmanship and ecological principles in gardening, it exemplifies what we do. At the heart of the is a free-standing energy efficiency greenhouse built with sustainable building materials featuring year-round organic herb and veg growing capabilities. An automated greenhouse then creates a setting for plants to grow in, where ventilation and irrigation are fully automated for optimal growth yet minimal water usage. We also planned a beautiful edible landscape filled with a diversity of perennials fruits and vegetables, herbs and edible flowers surrounding the greenhouse. We chose to use local bluestone for the components of the patio and find ways to expand a flat outdoor living experience; it blends seamlessly to add to the natural surroundings. Ideal for entertaining or just lounging, this friendly area features custom seating and built-in planters that can encourage herbs and you, too, can grow your own plants right under your nose. Another thing we dealt with was the poor soil quality on the property. We carefully enriched the soil with organic compost and then further conditioned it with biochar to improve its quality and composition. It was a worthwhile endeavor, as the orchard we created flourished with diverse cherries, apples, pears, and many other trees, supplying us with not only shade, but food as well. In the end, it resulted in an elegant mix of form and function, which our clients loved. This landscape provides for their culinary needs but is also a spectacular getaway for family get-togethers and a sanctuary for local wildlife alike. This is a perfect example of HomeHarvest's commitment to developing edible landscapes for living communities that enhance quality of life and foster sustainability.
