About This Project

South Pasadena Craftsman Located within the lovely community of South Pasadena, the ‘South Pasadena Craftsman’ , designed by June Scott Design, is a beautiful example of art and functionality in the landscape. The represents a thoughtful approach of fusing native plants, sustainable materials, and classic design characteristics reminiscent of the Craftsman style of the home. In the landscape, there is a combination of drought-tolerant plants with a great care, including California lilacs, salvias, and ornamental grasses, which develop not only an appealing look, but secondely enhance biodiversity and water-efficiency through the native flora palette. A wonderful flagstone path invites visitors to enter, and guides visitors through an inviting, colorful assortment of texture and diverse plant-life. One of the initial challenges of this was establishing and dictate the slope of the site. The June Scott Design team did a great job overcoming that challenge by building tiered garden beds, and retaining walls with locally-sourced stone that matched the natural landscape. Thus, the team was able to stabilize the site, facilitate distinct planting areas, and compliment the visual effect. In keeping with Craftsmam Style, custom wooden trellises were constructed and filled with climbing jasmine to provide vertical aspects and a romantic detail. The garden designs culminated into a tranquil retreat, comfortably entertaining outside, or quietly enjoying nature along with family and friends. The client was extremely happy at the end of the , underscoring the attention to detail and the commitment to quality inherent within the June Scott Design brand. The 'South Pasadena Craftsman' property illustrates the level of consideration in every aspect of the designs, and how wonderful meaningful landscaping can vastly improve the quality of life and value of a home. The 'South Pasadena Craftsman' has redefined the standard of landscape design improvement in South Pasadena and should set the standard for excellence in the surrounding areas.
