Oak Grove - McCullough's Landscape & Nursery McCullough's Landscape & Nursery isproud to feature the "Oak Grove," an incredible transformation in Greater Columbus. The new landscape design allows the residence to embrace the natural landscape while providing a relaxation and retreat area for the homeowners. The underscored many aspects from our design process, including a ceremonial oak tree as the centerpiece of the garden. Planting beds of local native plants surrounded the large tree, which included perennials that provide seasonal blooms while enhancing biodiversity in the landscape. Natural stone walkways and walls were designed as needed to create the rustic look while maintaining continuity to the sloped area of the landscape. One of the challenging aspects of the landscape located on a sloped site was addressing the drainage issues. This required extensive planning and the installation of a drainage system to resolve the necessary water flow management. After we properly calculated the necessary French drains and rain garden requirements, we were able to achieve our goal of managing the water flow adequately enough to ensure the longevity of the landscape. To ensure the landscape was not only aesthetically beautiful but this premium grade of materials was native stone, recycled mulch, and amended soil materials. By incorporating the outdoor lighting, we highlighted certain features of the landscape design while allowing safe navigation of the landscape at night. In the end, the resulted in a landscape space that was truly awe-inspiring and beyond the client's expectations. The integrated functional aspect of the design, the elegance of the materials used, and awareness of sustainability created a beautiful oasis that the homeowners will enjoy or work in all year round.
