Napa Meets Newport at Molly Wood Garden Design Located in Newport Beach's coastal region, the 'Napa Meets Newport' at Molly Wood Garden Design brought together the rustic style and agricultural craftiness of Napa Valley along with Southern California's coastal elegance. Serving the energetic communities of Corona Del Mar, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, and Newport Coast, this transformed the landscape into a mindful outdoor space that brings together the client's love of both regions. The properties landscape showcased beautiful materials and plants, including drought tolerant native plants, all of which enhance sustainability aside from aesthetics. The design incorporated beautiful warm natural stone finshed pathways surrounded by lush fragrant herbs that create an intimate warmth, much like Napa. The custom wood trellis considereably added to the outdoor space by being both an aesthetic focal point and a shaded location for family and friends. The property experienced significant elevation change to pose a necessary challenge for transformation. Our team successfully reworked the elevation change into a tiered garden build utilizing retaining walls that adheared to the locally sourced stone. This aspect of the landscape design provided stabilization, as well, for the marginalized planting areas that added to the overall layers to the landscape design. We also developed a draining and irrigation plan to optimize and simultaneously conserve water resources in the landscape. Ultimately, the finished landscape lived beautifully and showcased beautiful color, texture, and fragrant activity. It was inviting and calming and became an ideal family gathering atmosphere or quiet moment in the evenings. The client doctrine highlighted their overall satisfaction with the final product and appreciated the attention to detail and the simplicity of merging Napa's rustic character with Newport's coastal elegance.
