San Marino Sanctuary by Outside InStyle Located in San Marino, the 'San Marino Sanctuary' is a perfect combination of elegance and sustainable design, realized by Outside InStyle. This large outdoor area is designed to exist comfortably with the homeowner's style and enhance the existing ecology of the site. The design integrates many natural plants that are drought-tolerant and native to California, including a bold selection of colorful succulents, fragrant herbs, and beautiful ornamental grassesa colorful canvas that can thrive in Southern California's climate. High-quality materials, including reclaimed wood for the raised garden beds and natural stone for patios and walkways, elevate the design while also embracing an eco-friendly attitude. One of the challenges we faced in the 'San Marino Sanctuary' was working with the slope on-site. The grading and retaining wall achieved safe usability and drainage while also creating many levels to the overall . Our talented team overcame these steep slopes with beautiful materials ensuring visual interest and usable outdoor living space. The pond is the central feature of the sanctuary. It was designed to provide tranquil sounds and attract wildlife. The sustainable teak seating area next to the pond creates a lovely area for sitting and entertaining. Upon completion, the was a beautiful sanctuary and space of wonder beyond anything the client expected. The incredible craftsmanship, attention to detail, and elegant design create a truly magnificent landscape that invites 'a retreat' from the daily grind just outside the homeowner's front door. Outside InStyle is proud to have led a not just for the benefit and beauty of San Marino, but for ecological benefits in an ever-evolving climate and ecosystem.
