Proje ct: Porch Paradise on Lanoha Nurseries Lanoha Nurseries' 'Porch Paradise' showcases the work of a sculptural outdoor space that blends seamlessly into the landscape in Omaha, Nebraska. Exuding sophistication, this extensive landscaping done for a local client, who is based out of Bennington, Boys Town, Elkhorn, Valley, and Waterloo, took this unique porch and turned it into an enchanting getaway from the ordinary. At the heart of this is a beautifully crafted composite deck selected to ensure a long service life with minimal upkeep. To complement the porch, we created a mix of native perennials and ornamental grasses to maintain the beauty of the natural landscape while attracting pollinators and adding interest throughout the year. A diverse set of colors from plants like coneflowers and black-eyed Susans brought variety at different seasons. Tackling the site was one of the major challenges due to the lack of level ground that moves away from the house. We made sure to grade the landscape to make a soft slope for drainage, while still keeping a smooth transition from the porch to the garden area. We designed a beautiful stone retention wall built with local limestone that both kept the hillside in place and became an aesthetic feature that anchors the landscape. To improve the mood, we included this LED lighting throughout the backyard, lighting the path and the rich plantings, to bring a wizzard-ish mood for night meetings. The last addition was to have a natural boulder fire pit that was captured by Eagle Bay Homes to provide the warm space ideal for friends or family nights outside under the stars. It created an inviting and functional outdoor space enjoyed by our clients who, to this day, relax and entertain in a picturesque outdoor epitome of what the Australian lifestyle is all .
