Beacon Hill - West Hartford Donnellan & Sons Landscaping is excited to present the Beacon Hill in beautiful West Hartford, Connecticut: a stunning harmony of nature and beauty. This was a full landscape build that was designed to improve the beauty of the property while incorporating the client's vision of a peaceful space outside. This involved several different aspects of landscaping, including a combination of native/specimen plantings, boulders, and a custom stone path threading its way through the lush plantings. High-quality, local materials were sourced throughout the , including bluestone pavers and natural river rock. The longevity and low maintenance of the materials chosen will ensure they survive the test of time. One of the notable challenges faced in this was the natural slope of the site, which required some grading solutions to create level, usable spaces while keeping the natural landscape intact. Our team successfully incorporated several retaining walls, in addition to being useful to support the slope, gave the landscaping a more rustic feel. The end result is an impressive outdoor space, complete with a quiet water feature and list of seating areas- ready to invite family and friends to relax and enjoy. The incorporation of hardscaping and softscaping elements has turned this space into a habitat for local wildlife and given the home owners a calming retreat.
