About This Project

Lincoln Rd. West Hartford Donnellan & Sons Landscaping presents the Lincoln Rd. - a stunning transformation in the heart of West Hartford, Connecticut. We transformed the landscape to incorporate the outdoors more, while also being true to the client's wishes for a tranquil escape. We started this with a design phase to map out the vision and to learn how the homeowners wanted to be able to use their new garden. We designed numerous features, including a custom masonry stone patio imported from a local bluestone supplier, which is a welcoming outdoor living space for entertaining. We built natural plant beds around the patio, featuring a combination of perennials and ornamental grasses that would add beauty and enhance the biodiversity of the area. The biggest challenge with this property was the slope of the site, and the grading and drainage of the property to control the water runoff. The team developed an extensive drainage to limit the amount of run off and the degradation the water would cause to the landscape. As part of the we also incorporated LED lighting throughout the garden in key locations to allow the clients to enjoy the space at night. We designed a fire pit area with natural boulders, creating a wonderful gathering place for family and friends. The end result is a site that not only met the horticultural vision of the homeowner, but went far beyond their expectations. It was an inviting and beautiful space that enhanced the property and provided the homeowner with significant value.
