Poolside Garden by Alford's English Gardens Inc. Alford's English Gardens Inc. has completed the 'Poolside Garden' in a magnificent home in Huntington Beach. We took a boring outdoor space and turned it into a tranquil retreat. Located in Southern California, our surrounding communities include Cerritos, Lakewood, Long Beach, and more, with their own requests for a gorgeous outdoor landscape, we were up for the challenge! The poolside garden exhibited a collection of bright, colorful, drought-tolerant plants (ferns, ornamental grasses, and perennials) worth admiring year-round that also reduced the need for excessive watering. Stone pathways were then created with locally sourced flagstone and simple seating areas with hand-built teak furniture, which added a convenient and colorful backdrop for families and friends to enjoy. There was also a challenge where the site originally was not level at the pool. Our crew of professional landscapers graded the site for drainage with a zero water pooling in the yard and also built tiered beds for design and level change. A natural stone wall was also put in as a retaining wall and a stunning garden element. Lastly, we offered significant thought to the outdoor space with light, but subtle and able to cast a warm light on the garden's inviting colors in the evening. The space was simply stunning to behold and left our clients feeling delighted with the amount of usable outdoor space they had in their home deck.
