About This Project

Magazine Avenue by LUSH GreenScape Design Located in the heart of San Marcos, LUSH GreenScape Design's Magazine Avenue exemplifies a brilliant combination of function and beauty. This innovative landscaping made a previously ordinary home and yard into a lively outdoor living area that complemented the client’s lifestyle. The design showcases an impressive variety of native plants that thrive in the area's climate like aromatic Texas sage and colorful lantanas, that not only provide beauty but also support biodiversity. A custom stone pathway made of locally sourced limestone flows through the garden, allowing you to journey to a beautiful seating area with a custom wood pergola. This euro-style cedar structure was made of sustainable wood to provide a wonderful outdoor gathering space from the Texas sun and is conducive to outdoor dining and relaxing. All the design challenges of poor soil quality and an uneven yard were met creatively by LUSH GreenScape. Our design team created an extensive drainage system to properly manage and filter rainwater to assure the landscape will last. Furthermore, we added organic matter into the existing soil to improve nutrient density for plant growth and appearance. In the end, the design brought together beauty and sustainability appealing to the ultimate owner's relaxation and entertainment needs in a simple paving scheme. The owner received a rather lush outdoor environment, adding curb appeal and representative of an outdoorsman.
