Aquifer Oaks by LUSH GreenScape Design Located within the peaceful surroundings of Canyon Lake, the 'Aquifer Oaks' represents the apex of sustainable landscape design by LUSH GreenScape Design. The goal for this was to transform an expansive residential lot into a lively oasis that connects to its surroundings while addressing some of the challenges that come with living in this eco-region of the Texas Hill Country. The began with a thorough site analysis focused on conserving water and improving soil health. We utilized native drought resistant plants, and we incorporated permeable paving in some areas to aid groundwater recharge as part of our sustainable practice. The design includes a beautiful xeriscape garden that highlights the abundant native plants found in the Hill Country, such as Texas sage, lantana, and bluebonnets, resulting in a dense colorful display that will attract native pollinators. The slope of the property created unique challenges, so we introduced various terraced gardens in consultation with our talented team of landscape architects. The terraced gardens not only create additional usable outdoor space but also help with soil stability and erosion issues created by the slope. This also included locally sourced stone used for retaining walls as well as pathways which provide a more rustic feel in relation to the environment as well as a touch of charm. The result of 'Aquifer Oaks' is simply beautiful. The combination of function and beauty is amazing for transforming the outdoor living space into a space for relaxation and recreation. The client was thoroughly impressed, indicating that they love the design and flow from inside to outside. The features a custom fire pit surrounded by natural boulders and a winding pathway that encourages exploration. The vision of Aquifer Oaks is a clear representation of LUSH GreenScape Design’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and ecological stewardship. We feel that this accomplishes several objectives, aesthetically enhancing the property, while integrating a sustainable design that promotes biodiversity, and is proudly "responsible landscaping" in San Antonio, Austin, and beyond.
