Creative Solutions by Garden Nest Residential Landscape On a charming residential property in the mid Bay Area we proudly feature our most recent 'Creative Solutions' in the Garden Nest Residential Landscape. We took a backyard and turned it into a little slice of heavena backyard and a home that fits so seamlessly into its environment while remaining thoroughly modern and accommodating to the diverse residents of Alameda, Alamo, Albany, Berkeley, and further afield. The itself contained a complex transitional landscape of local native plants, materials, and building systems designed to enrich the preexisting landscape and promote local biodiversity. Paths were permeable pavers that can infiltrate moisture and decrease runoff. They also incorporated a beautiful water feature with a bubbling waterfall that lends to the soundscape and serves to attract local wildlife often incorporating the gurgling waters neighbored by gentle winds in their aprés bathing sessions. An example of a major obstacle was that some areas were either quite sloped or perhaps quite lumpy, making grading difficult to get proper drainage, not to mention some of the innovative techniques needed to keep the integrity of the design. The ground was carefully flattened by our team to build a tiered garden that provided both space efficiency and varying levels of interst. The end product made our clientele very happy to have a new outdoor living space with a cozy custom seating area and firepit to entertain family and friends. Colourful flower beds, lighting fixtures in prominent places, proper irrigation system all culminated to make the a low-maintenance beauty for all seasons.
