Dul & Associates, Inc. is a landscaping plan that successfully combines function, beauty, and nourishment for the landscaping site in the community of Birmingham, MI. This has been carefully designed to accentuate the assets of the cottage while addressing the special conditions of the existing environment. A thorough site analysis revealed the need for recommended drainage strategies, conditioning of the soil health, and food and shelter for habitat enhancement. Top-of-the-line materials sourced from local sources were used throughout the design process, taking advantage of native plants that are well adapted to the local climate to ensure easy maintenance and resilience. The landscaping incorporates a beautiful mixture of perennial gardens, ornamental grasses, and stone boulders, creating a naturalistic appeal as well as riding the visitor's experience through the property. Perhaps the most unique feature of the landscaping is the custom stone path that connects the two major entries of the cottage. It is made of durable bluestone that is both aesthetically pleasing and able to withstand many seasons of wear. The flower beds that surround the path provide a pop of seasonal color and a buffet for the local pollinators. Finally, we enlivened the landscape by adding a cozy fire pit area (with shrub den) for family and friends to enjoy. The , which was met with some challenges and the demand of completing the installation in a rainy season, went extremely well without compromising the integrity of the cottage, the surrounding landscape, or even the schedule of completion.
