The began with a full consultation with the homeowner to better understand their dreams and needs. They felt our high standards needed a front yard makeover to achieve a relaxed and inviting outdoor space from the street. The original layout was cluttered, lacked harmony and the sidewalk and walkway were unwelcoming due to overgrown shrubbery. Our design team worked hard on the plan to incorporate native plantings that promoted harmony and landscape while incorporating a new sidewalk to the front door. We took the design to the 'field' stage. We recognized the importance of utilizing quality materials and components such as sourcing local materials for the sidewalk and retaining walls that would also complement the natural environment. We chose a-quality perennial, ornamental grasses, and flowering shrubs to fit the hardy climate. One of the primary challenges, was the lot's slope. Our crew regraded the yard and created a slope to assist with drainage and erosion, but also created aesthetic flow to the front of the house. The finished product is remarkablethe new sidewalk offered a welcoming or inviting entrance framed with thoughtful river rock and adequate accent lighting. The new plantings added color and texture, which provided something to see no matter what time of year. The client was ecstatic over the as she mentioned that it had increased the curb appeal of the home, while creating a relaxing outdoor space for her to enjoy.
