German Village by McCullough's Landscape & Nursery The 'German Village' by McCullough's Landscape & Nursery, originally designed for a residence in a lively and active neighborhood, serves as an exemplification of our commitment to providing high-quality fabrications and installations in the landscape design industry. The involved transforming an ordinary outdoor space serving the Greater Columbus area, including Bexley, Gahanna, and New Albany (suburban cities bordering Columbus), into an extraordinary modernized outdoor sanctuary that honors the essence of a traditional German garden. The process commenced with a thorough site evaluation, detailing the properties of the site, including spatial constraints influenced by sun exposure, soil properties, and living landscape plants. One of the obstacles presented to our team by the client was a slope, which was resolved through the incorporation of staggered or tiered garden beds, providing depth in the overall and aiding with drainage. Materials were selected based on quality, and local harvested stone was used for retaining walls, which provided a natural edge and took advantage of the native and thriving landscape. The friendships nurtured through locally sourced materials also supported the providing cohabited spaces of rooted plants, including coneflowers, daylilies, and ornamental grass. A path of cobblestones leads visitors through the garden, inviting exploration of curated plantings and seasonal color arrangements. A custom cedar wood structure, also known as a pergola, was crafted to form a shaded space for the clients. The hardware of the structure was outfitted with climbing vines and blooming plants, which organized and embellished the structure while carrying the energy and hope for our clients as the seasons progress through functional additions of plant growth. In conclusion, the completed of the outdoor living space is an idyllic ensemble created for beauty and modern design choices meshed with serenity. All of the elements within the landscape admired and enjoyed as a whole satisfies our clients beyond the initial contract fulfills.
