This stunning residential estate artfully integrates native plants, durable materials, and superior design to form an outdoor retreat that works in collaboration with its surroundings. To realize the homeowners' design goals, we strategically selected low-water-use plants that are well suited for the climatic conditions in Arizona, which is a primary concern. From the stunning yellow bloom of desert marigolds to the dramatic beauty of ocotillo, each location was purposely planned for its aesthetics as well as water conservation. An overall challenge for the was the estate's slope. To remedy the steep terrain, our talented team was able to terrace the natural stone retaining walls, creating terrace zones in the landscape, seamlessly blending into the environment. These walls offered structure, but also created tiered plant zones allowing for several layers of plant species. Flowing flagstone paths, locally sourced, offered durability, access and added to the aesthetic of the . The end result is a breathtaking outdoor space is conducive to relaxing while engaging with nature. Between the walls and the plants, we added a central water feature with a dramatic waterfall that allowed soothing sounds and attracted birds and other wildlife. We topped off the with custom outdoor lighting, accenting the plants and retaining walls, bringing the St. Horvath-Carrington Estates into the limelight at night.
