Newcastle House - A Lankford Associates Landscape Architects Design Located in Newcastle's peaceful environment, this exceptional landscape by Lankford Associates Landscape Architects metamorphosed an ordinary yard into a beautiful retreat. The design integrates natural elements and innovative landscaping strategies for aesthetics and function. The landscape incorporates a glorious selection of native plants to beautify the local ecosystem year-round. Ferns, blooming perennials, and ornamental grasses provide endurance and enjoyment season after season with their low-maintenance qualities. One of the recognized features is the beautiful stone walkway, made of local basalt, that winds throughout the garden to provide a calming journey for visitors. The stone pathway includes boulders for garden interest, seating opportunities, and the notion of nature. Lankford Associates mitigated challenges relating to drainage on the property by including a rain garden, allowing for aesthetic value while solving stormwater runoff and creating an inviting ecosystem and place for pollinators. To create a shaded outdoor living area for family gatherings and meals outside, a custom pergola was designed and built. Lighting was strategically placed with the pergola to provide outdoor illumination for evening enjoyment. In the end, the resulted in fine art and use, with each piece being intentionally curated to reflect the clients’ needs and vision. The Newcastle House serves as a continued display of Lankford Associates' philosophy of striving for quality and high standards in landscape architecture. Homeowners are excited and enjoy having their beautiful outdoor space where nature meets design.
