Amoeba Terrace The terraced landscape at 'Amoeba Terrace' by Christian Duvernois Landscape/Studio located in the lively core of Inwood, New York, is a beautifully executed example of landscaping design. This vast exterior in what used to be primarily waste land became a calm sanctuary, dynamic plan driven by organic amorphous forms blending into environments being nature. Using locally-sourced quality materials, the features natural stone pathways, eco-friendly wooden decking and leafy green plants in balance with the cityscape. By incorporating native plants, which improve the landscape as well as the habitat for pollinators to promote local biodiversity. The site topography was one of the regular challenges during the , which needed carefully planned grading and drainage solutions capable of becoming permanent and enduring as the seasons change. The team deftly navigated this challenge, integrating an advanced irrigation system that conserves water while keeping the landscape flourishing. The end result is a stunning terrace perfect for relaxing and entertaining with a fire pit area framed by ornamental grasses and flowering perennials. The lighting is artfully crafted to pair with the design's distinctive unique lines, making it a delightful evening experience.
