Arrival Garden Completed by: Christian Duvernois Landscape/Studio Located in Inwood, the 'Arrival Garden' exemplifies the fusion of nature and urban sophistication with the fine artistry of Christian Duvernois Landscape/Studio. This landscape conversion was carefully crafted to help establish a welcoming entry that acts as a peaceful escape from the manic pace of life in Manhattan. Complementary native plantings, stone pathways, and custom seating areas were meticulously chosen to beautify and provide biodiversity in the garden. Selection of material with texture and richness, such as aged bluestone and reclaimed granite were chosen, both for longevity and the nature of the material that compliments the architecture in its permanence. The tightness of the site and the requirement for good drainage strategies posed one of the principal challenges of the 'Arrival Garden'. They designed a permeable pathway system to manage water runoff while at the same time creating a functional water flow through the garden that looks beautiful. The inset raised planting beds facilitate both maintenance and the display of perennial plants that bloom in succession, creating year-round appeal. What you get in the end is the lavish colors, subtle textures and a layered landscape that entices guests there. Adding ambient lighting will light your garden in the night; it can be like fantastic environment around in the evening touching your senses. The transformation delighted our clients, who told us that the Arrival Garden has become one of their favourite places to sit and drink tea or chat with friends.
