Petaluma Hill Tropical 'Petaluma Hill Tropical' was a completed by Geared for Growing Landscape Services and truly represents the feeling of a tropical rainforest in Sonoma County. Perched in the beautiful hills above Petaluma, the quality of workmanship and thoughtful design will be apparent at every turn. The involved a large assortment of tropical plants, including colorful hibiscus, exotic bird of paradise, and fragrant plumeria; producing a colorful landscape that is vibrant through all of the seasons. To continue with the aesthetics of the tropical design, we used natural stone for paths and decorative boulders to enhance the rugged, natural beauty that is enhanced with the tropical plants. One challenge we faced on the property was the sloped grade of the site and detailing not only could we maximize the area but also ensure proper drainage through careful consideration of layout and design. Tiered planting beds were employed to create patterns that still utilize the entire space, while adding remarkable layers of green and color. We also included a water-efficient irrigation system that allows all the planned plants to flourish without waste. The final result is stunning, not only representing the visual ideas expressed by the client, but rendering greater satisfaction than anyone had imagined. The custom waterfall cascades to a beautiful koi pond, and invites relaxation. The outdoor area also featured custom decking which gives excellent views of the hills and space for entertaining. We are proud of the results of the Petaluma Hill Tropical . It exemplified Geared for Growing Landscape Services' commitment to providing a successful landscape solution that realized a beautiful, functional and imaginative landscape.
