Northwest Backyard Sport Park Alderwood Landscape Architecture and Construction is excited to unveil their Northwest Backyard Sport Park, a that will change the way families and sports lovers utilize outdoor recreation in the greater Seattle area. From Ames Lake to Coeur d'Alene, our team took on a with big aspirations for a multifunctional space to blend the beauty of the Pacific Northwest together with the athletic desires of our client. The expansive backyard includes a state-of-the-art sports court for basketball and volleyball surrounded by meticulous landscaping. We chose high-quality durable materials such as permeable pavers for the surface of the court to maximize performance and drainage. Native plants, such as ferns and ornamental grasses, were selected to improve the aesthetic while enhancing biodiversity. One of the main challenges posed by this was the slope of the site. Fortunately, it had great views. We had to grade and level the site to create a safe and functional sports area. Our talented team developed a terraced approach with natural stone retaining walls to further express rustic appeal and relate functionality to the site. We also installed an irrigation system to keep things looking beautiful throughout the season. The final product was not only a plan for outdoor recreation but a community hub! The Northwest Backyard Sport Park is a perfect combination of play and relaxation. It featured a great cozy area with custom built benches and a fire pit that the family could utilize at a number of different gatherings. Our client was pleased and impressed with the transition from paved recreation to flourishing landscape, as well as the transition from the backyard to the sport park.
