Fountain by DSLD Land Management Company, Inc. Located in Birmingham, the 'Fountain' completed by DSLD Land Management Company, Inc. is a prime example of our ethos to recreate outdoor spaces into beautiful landscapes. Working with clients in Alabama, including Alabaster, Chelsea, and Mountain Brook, we pride ourselves on being detail-oriented. Thus, our s consist of an elegant fountain made of durable natural stone that seamlessly attached to the landscape and surrounding plants. Ultimately, the lines that were designed for the fountain were deliberately soft and flowing to compliment the existing water feature to the north. Surrounding the fountain is a diverse planting palette of native vegetation that includes ornamental grasses as well as colorful perennials. The plants selected for this are resilient and work well in the local climate. One of the challenges of the site was that it was not flat, which meant a lot of grading and even drainage work had to take place to make sure we were causing the water to flow. Our team was able to design and install a sophisticated drainage system that improved the utility of the landscape while respecting the inherent quality of the natural landscape. Overall, the end result was amazing. The fountain constructed began to draw people to it because of the sound of water but also its stunning looks. The overlay of lush plantings not only made the landscape aesthetic, and the plants also provided much-needed habitat for wildlife while creating a sustainable landscape. Ultimately, the client was extremely happy with our work and mentioned they enjoyed the fact the new landscape gave them a different outdoor experience and was a great escape for the family when they wanted to gather or find a quiet place of solitude.
