About This Project

Silverlake Mediterranean by June Scott Design In the lively town of Silverlake is 'Silverlake Mediterranean,' a that showcases the thoughtful design and craftsmanship of June Scott Design. Working with a diverse clientele in the Greater Los Angeles area, we created a Mediterranean oasis in this hillside outdoor space, combining contemporary style with an old-world flair. We designed a complex arrangement of drought-tolerant plants throughout the garden, including fragrant lavender, vibrant bougainvillea, and mature olive trees, which placed thoughtfully together create a beautiful sense of layering and lushness. Natural stone paths and terracotta planters were used to give visitors a sense of the Mediterranean and invited to experience nature as they traverse the landscape. The landscape's slope posed a challenge for drainage and stability, but also an opportunity to create beautiful terraced garden beds. Local stone was used to create a fulfilling retaining wall design in various heights throughout the terraced garden beds. The walls helped give the landscape a rustic feel related to the Mediterranean style while enhancing gravity during rainfall. Material selection was important for this . The reclaimed wood used for the custom-built pergola provided shade and also serves as a gathering place for the clients' friends and family. We built a tranquil water feature with hand-selected travertine that adds an auditory sense of relaxation, completing the sensory experience of garden ambiance. The result of the is a gorgeous retreat that relates to its neighborhood qualities while providing the clients with a Mediterranean getaway. Through quality and execution, we have satisfied and exceeded the clients' expectations and are thrilled to stay connected with them as they begin to enjoy their new outdoor space.
