Warren Estate Landscaping by Matthew Cunningham Landscape Design LLC Matthew Cunningham Landscape Design LLC has transformed a sprawling residential property in Stoneham into an incredible outdoor space at the Warren Estate. The entire serves as an example of our dedication, quality, and creativity in terms of landscaping, harmonizing function and form with aesthetic appeal. The design features a well-designed stone pathway made from locally sourced granite, which winds through densly planted gardens with native species suited to the local climate. An aquatic feature, with a waterfall spilling over rocks, creates an anchor point in the garden that enhances the serene atmosphere and attracts local wildlife. One challenge we encountered was working with the dramatic slope of terrain that had to be addressed for proper drainage and soil stabilization. We designed terraced gardens that incorporated a combination of natural stone boulders and retaining walls to manage the slope, and allow for additional levels of interest and greenery in the garden. The end result is a balanced mixture of hardscaping and softscaping that fulfills the client’s desire for beauty while also providing a sustainable environment. The choice of drought-resistant plants further reinforces the sustainability component with little to no requirement for watering. Upon completion, the clients were extremely pleased with the new outdoor living space that provided an appropriate setting for family gatherings and escapes alike.
