Pool Patio Remodel by TERRAFIRMA Landscape TERRAFIRMA Landscape is pleased to provide an overview of the beautiful Pool Patio Remodel we completed for a client in the beautiful community of Ann Arbor. Designed to look beautiful and maximize use and comfort for family gatherings and entertaining, our crew accomplished an outdoor escape. Our inspiration for this was to create a transition from the pool area to the surrounding landscape. We chose high-quality, slip-resistant porcelain tiles in a subtle sandy color to blend in with the surrounding backyard elements, while ensuring durability with outdoor use. The tile pattern is impressive, giving it elegance and a warm inviting feel. One of our most significant hurdles was the unlevel slope surrounding the pool. Our landscape architects' team meticulously graded the area to allow for proper drainage to avoid pooling water and good safety. This included installing a complete drainage system that was also hidden under the patio from the surface. This drainage system provides protection for the patio but also adds to the clean, organized look. In addition, we wanted to add appeal to the patio with lush native plantings of ornamental grasses and flowering perennials that would attract pollinators and provide color throughout the seasons. We also installed a custom stone retaining wall that acts as both a natural barrier and backdrop to the pool and patio for added privacy and style. We are very pleased with the final result, and the clients were not only excited and happy with the remodel but loved the way the hardscapes and softscapes blend together to create a relaxing, tranquil space to escape. The additional patio compliments their home and provides a comfortable and functional area for relaxation and entertaining.
