Vacation Lake Home Refresh by TERRAFIRMA Landscape Located on the peaceful shores of a secluded lake, the Vacation Lake Home Refresh by TERRAFIRMA Landscape is the perfect blend of function and beauty. Serving the beautiful communities of Ann Arbor, Barton Hills, Brighton, Dexter, Belleville, Canton, Plymouth, Saline, and Irish Hills, our team was fortunate to be asked to redesign a lakeside getaway that offered an inviting outdoor space that enhanced the site while also providing a connection to the natural landscape. The contemplatively began with a comprehensive engagement to unveil the desires and lifestyle of the client. Our talented designers put together a comprehensive plan that featured simultaneous multi-leveled deck overlooking the water, which provided all vision access and made the dock even more accessible. Our use of high-quality composite materials that were weather resistant not only complimented the home’s rustic character but will last for years to come. To further embellish outdoor beauty, we added a stunning native plant garden that featured a mix of colorful perennials and ornamental grasses, that are very low maintenance and establish habitat for native wildlife. The plants were specifically chosen for their ability to survive in the local climate while enhancing local biodiversity to maintain the ecological integrity of the lakeside property. One of the major hurdles faced during the was the uneven topography around the home. Our talented team was able to overcome this hurdle with a series of retaining walls made of natural stone; adding stability and more rigor and sophistication to the composition of the garden layout. The stone walls aesthetically complimented the areas around the home while terracing flower beds; impacting depth and dimension. The final result is a stunning makeover of what became the client’s perfect family gathering and retreat home. The redesigned outdoor space dramatically improved overall beauty and function of the vacation home and fulfilled all parties with providing leisure and comfort in nature.
