FOUR OF SIX LANDSCAPE: FOSSILS REFINED Located within Madisons bustling neighbourhood, The Fossils Refined is a testament to the artist and craftsmanship Four of Six Landscape brings to the table for all outdoor landscaping indeavors. This lyrical combines natures splendor and human scale to create an oasis for the eye and spirit. The concept for the design for this work titled ‘Fossils Refined’ is informed by the geological history of the site, even the footprints and living areas of the fossils found are reflected in a textile and network pattern with a fossilised appearance, reflecting stone pathways. We chose high quality, locally sourced bluestone and natural granite because the materials are long-lasting, beautiful and sustainable. The staggered terrain was just one of the biggest obstacles we worked to overcome in order to achieve a level platform for our elaborate hardscaping. We used our knowledge to contour the land smoothly to allow transitions in and out of the different aspects of the garden to take place naturally, one of our nice water features became the focal point of the garden. Rich planting design comprising native perennial and ornamental grasses is an expression of the fossil motifs but also a habitat for biodiversity; By selecting an ornate collection of colourful blooms and foliage with the seasons in mind, we set out to provide richness in every season that would provide an immersive environment both indoors and outdoors, benefiting the homeowners as well as their guests. The finished product is ‘Fossils Refined’ an exquisite outdoor space that embodies everything the clients envisioned (and is worth its weight in gold as appraised value added equity to the subject property).
