Welcoming Workplace, Four of Six Landscape Welcoming Workspace Location: Madison, WI Date: Completed Winter 2022/2023 Company: Four of Six Landscape Description: The challenge was to create an inviting and usable outdoor workspace at the base of a nondescript commercial property in the middle of Madison. Developed to cater to the areas surrounding Cottage Grove, De Forest, Deerfield, Maple Bluff, Marshall, Monona, Sun Prairie, and Windsor, our team met the challenge of developing not just an area to beautify the aesthetic but also a private space where employees and clients can escape to serenity. The design of the included a mix of native vegetation, colourful garden beds and foliage for year-round interest. We integrated permanent materials like sustainable pavers for pathways and seating areas, creating connections between work zones. Adding a peaceful water feature to the spaces brought a serene sound and wildlife, thus, enriching the landscape. The uneven topography of the site posed one of the most significant challenges. The gentle slope of the land was perfect for our expert team in cleverly grading the land to create terraced planting beds to ensure that the plants stay put and fully drained. The layers themselves were also pleasing to the eye and acted as an invitation to discover more. The outcome of the d 'Welcoming Workspace', ended up providing our client with more than what they decided to transform their outdoors into a lively place which encourages collaboration along with relaxation. Employees now have a viable option for a break from work, with the comfort of sitting areas surrounded by flowers and shaded areas, while clients can be welcomed to a well-appointed and professional landscape. This reflects both our commitment to quality and craftsmanship, and our commitment to delivering sustainable outdoor spaces that contribute to community health.
