BC Landscape Design If you are looking for a new design for your property, you will want to see their successful transformation of the home. Our clients were looking to improve their property but wanted to do so in a way that maintained the natural aesthetic aspect of their property, which is where our team came in to create a comfortable outdoor space. This robust design included new front and back yards with abundant native plantings that flourish in Idaho weather. We chose a multitude of drought-tolerant perennials, ornamental grasses, and flowering shrubs and began layering in bursts of color and texture for every season. Flagstone: For attractive pathways that hold up to heavy traffic, we laid down tons of soft, drought-tolerant flagstone, which we picked out according to the best pieces the region had to offer! With its natural appearance and weather-resistance, this option compliments the surrounding landscape nicely. Managing the slope of the property was one of our biggest hurdles. Wraparound terraces, in turn, provided erosion control and visual interest, and made more space for planting. These steps were given a biophilic touch by coating them with natural stone retaining walls that merge in the environment. We added a custom fire pit area to create the perfect space to enjoy the evening outside under the stars. They used reclaimed wood for the seating, which instantly added to the ranch-style charm of this casual workspace. The fire pit was surrounded by ambient lighting to invite nighttime use but also along trails to make the use of trails at night feel safe. The end result was an outdoor space that both our clients and we agreed was above expectations in functionality. It added significant value to their home and provided a tranquil oasis away from the daily grind of life.
