An extensive site analysis outlining the unique topography and soil conditions was undertaken as the first step of the . The architects of the local landscape fashioned a terraced garden that captures the inspiring views, while allowing for proper drainage and erosion control. Local granite boulders and river rock fit right in to offer retaining walls and pathways that should function, sure, but also look right at home in the rugged landscape. One component of the Boise Foothills Design is the use of native plants that flourish with the environment, helping to keep the area sustainable and diverse. Year-round, low-maintenance colour and texture were accomplished using a thoughtful palette of wildflowers, tough shrubs, and ornamental grasses. By using this method, it also conserved water and invited a variety of local species to thrive, thus adding more ecological diversity to the area. There were challenges during the , including steep slopes and rocky soil, yet these obstacles built creativity. Using well-acquainted terrace gardening strategies, our crew ensured to maximise the usable space and avoid soil erosion. We also put in place an efficient irrigation system that uses little water, yet ensures no plant is left behind. The end result is a beautiful site that seamlessly blends with the native environment, a gorgeous outdoor living area with custom built-in fire pit and seating which is perfect for entertaining guests or simply enjoying the peace after hours, taking in the deep and beautiful stars.
