Modern Low Water Garden by Alford's English Gardens Inc. At Alford's English Gardens Inc., we are excited to present the 'Modern Low Water Garden,' an inspiring landscape that celebrates both design and sustainability. Located in Cerritos, and the surrounding areas, this stylish garden highlights our dedication to quality, and our awareness to protect the environment. The features a beautiful collection of drought tolerant plants, including succulents, native grasses, and ornamental shrubs, that are not only tolerable with little water requirements but also have low maintenance. The garden also features permeable paving stones and gravel pathways to create not only a durable modern look, but also manage rainwater runoff and effectively saturate nearby plants, thus increasing water into the soil while reducing water runoff. One of the larger challenges was converting a conventional lawn space into a low water space while ensuring year round appeal and interest. Our experienced staff was able to create larger and smaller leaf textures with color that layered well to create an appealing low water space. Focal points were created with boulders and carefully planned sculptural planters. A new technology of a drip irrigation system was implemented to ensure and systemize the right amount of water was delivered without wastage getting there. The end result is an awe inspiring space that not only engages the senses but truly meets the goals of the client. The 'Modern Low Water Garden' informs us of how beautiful eco- friendly products and practices can look when used appropriately. Alford's English Gardens Inc. is pleased to have achieved a modest transformation into a tranquil low water retreat that elevates the property value while serving of a strategy for better stewardship for our environment.
