About This Project

A Bell Landscape Architecture Inc. historical gem Located in a picturesque coastal village, the 'Historical Gem' by Bell Landscape Architecture Inc. is a beautiful example of landscape design seamlessly blending the atmosphere of history innate to the site with a modern design vocabulary. With a reach from Florida to the Caribbean, our team took on the challenge to bring this hundred year old estate back to life while maintaining its historical value. The involves restoring and enhancing native plant gardens, which were originally designed to be representative of the local ecosystem. To preserve sustainability towards the plants, we chose drought-resistant plants and heirloom species. Locally sourced coquina stone is used for paths to the surrounding greenery, both honoring the architectural heritage of the area and providing an enduring and beautiful feature that beckons to be explored. Highlighting one of the biggest challenges that had needed to be overcome, he continued: "The site is largely hilly and undulating, so it posed an interesting set of problems and solutions to create the spaces that people enjoy and engage with today. The landscape architects created terraced gardens that provided stunning views of the site and the surrounding landscape using reclaimed stone masonry retaining walls that nicely complemented the natural surroundings. The end product is a stunning grounds that tantalizes the senses, with winding ways, restful spaces, and colorful, seasonal flower beds. The results please our clients as much as they please us, they enjoyed hearing how the further developed the beauty of the missions estate while respecting its history and blending harmoniously for generations of enjoyment.
