Above the River Deeply Connected Landscape Services is excited to present the 'Above the River' , an exemplary renovation that embodies the beauty of the Sonoma County landscape. Located in the peaceful surroundings of Healdsburg, this residential garden marries function and beauty for leisure and entertaining. The has a multi-step terrace garden that flows effortlessly down to the riverbank, giving the property an integrated flow from home to nature. Our qualified team constructed retaining walls with locally sourced stone and sustainable materials that are both long-lasting and sit naturally within the lie of the land. Native drought-resistant plants were decided upon to diversify and lessen water consumption. One of the challenges that we faced with 'Above the River' was the steep slope of the property, which needed creative engineering to avoid erosion and keep soil intact. The team developed a drainage solution that directed water from the permiter of the foundation, protecting the home, while keeping a lush garden. The end result is a stunning outdoor composition with a meandering path of colorful perennials, an outdoor fire pit gathering place, and calm seating areas throughout the landscape to encourage lounge and imagine. A shaded sanctuary was created from reclaimed lumber in the form of a wooden pergola to increase the function of the outdoor space. The clients were excited the and displayed delight when they learned that 'Above the River' not only beautified their property but it also increased the property value.
