Located along the scenic shore of Mt Hope Bay, this landscape renovation is a beautiful combination of native plantings, fine hardscape materials and useful outdoor rooms for the client’s lifestyle. The started with an analysis of the site conditions to learn of the topographical features and coastal climate. Charles Earl Landscape Architecture LLC proposed native plants like beach grass, lilac and black eyed Susan that are not only beautiful but drought resistant and hardy to a salted sea air environment. There were various problems to overcome involved with the erosion of soils properties. They also had to create a visual flow and relationship between the architecture of the house and the surrounding landscape. The design team employed a terraced botanical garden for a visual appeal and rustic character. The terraced wall consisted of locally purchased stone walls that not only give a bonded and solid design but they are an addition of rustic material to the landscape. These walls were further developed by materials of bluestone for numerous uses of outdoors entertaining while producing beautiful views of the bay. The completed shows that gardens with ruined walls provide an endlessly interesting environment for your outer room. Wonderfully curved sandy walks, foamed with periannial plantings and leading by a classically shaped water course for birds and wildlife and a number of patios give the features for perfect relaxation.
