Middletown Residence B: An Elegant Outdoor Retreat The ``Middletown Residence B`` , designed by Charles Earl Landscape Architecture LLC, and located in the center of Middletown, Rhode Island, is a that displays the beauty that can be created through materials and design. An expansive residential landscape that uses native flowers and grasses and improvements to outdoor living spaces, the client requested both beauty and usable space. The design relies heavily upon the use of both native plant gardens, pathways of elegant stone and a relaxing peaceful water feature was incorporated into the design process to produce a relaxing atmosphere. High grade materials were utilized, composed of local quarried blue stone, hard woods which were sustainably harvested, all enhancing the beauty of the home and landscape. The terrain of this was sloped at 45 degrees, a terracing technique was employed by our landscape architects where a number of upper level garden bed area and landscaping terraces were utilized to add add visual interest, but to also enhance drainage and the stability of the soil. What was otherwise a difficult landscape curving up a sloped 45 degree incline has been made into a stellar piece of visual interest where the view can be admired and appreciated from all angles as the terraces wind upward. The final product produces a wonderful outdoor environment that epitomizes the New England coastal life. The clients were extremely pleased with their new outdoor setting which has turned into both an inviting retreat for family gatherings and quiet respite as well. The ``Middletown Residence B`` has succeeded in producing a product with which Charles Earl Landscape Architecture LLC has taken great pride. With the usual care and attention to detail, along with producing only the highest grades of workmanship toward completing the , the itself reflects every effort to enhance the beauty from a natural perspective of living in Rhode Island.
