Pasadena Contemporary Rancher Sacred Space Garden Design Inc. is thrilled to announce the Pasadena Contemporary Rancher, a breathtaking transformation of a landscape that seamlessly merges modern design with the peaceful coolness of Southern California. Located in the heart of Pasadena, this was envisioned to support our client’s outdoor living experience while remaining in harmony with the contemporary architecture of the rancher-style home. The features a drought-tolerant garden that is locally nurturing. Utilizing native plants like California poppies, lavender, and agave, we designed a palette that is colorful and beautiful while requiring little water. The use of quality materials such as stone paths sourced locally and sustainable hardwood decks complements the aesthetics of the space while being built to last. One of the unanticipated challenges we had to work with was the uneven contours of the property. Innovative grading allowed us to create outdoor spaces that were uniform yet aesthetically pleasing. Our team graded areas so one could access areas for a beautiful patio designed for outdoor living, and it was a seamless transition from the lush garden area into the patio. There were also a custom irrigation system that improved usage of water, as it is a focus in our drought area. The end result is an outdoor escape for both relaxing and entertaining, featuring a built-in fire pit surrounded by native plants, a smart modern water feature that adds to the serenity of the space, and ample seating for gathering. The Pasadena Contemporary Rancher is meant to showcase our focus on quality craftsmanship and sustainable landscaping. Our client is happy to use a space that features both beauty and function; their home is now a perfect reflection of their lifestyle.
