Cheviot Hills Hidden Gem Completed by: Green Landscape Designs Located in the Cheviot Hills neighborhood, the ‘Hidden Gem’ serves as an embodiment of our commitment to converting outdoor landscapes into beautiful outdoor spaces. Located in the vibrant areas of Beverly Hills, Brentwood Los Angeles, Culver City, and more, this exemplifies the quality we aim to achieve with all our s at Green Landscape Designs. This called for a total landscape transformation based on the client’s need for balance between practical use and relaxation. This led our design team of horticulture experts to purposely selected drought resistant plant material that would bolster a color palette in Southern California’s climate. The team developed a palette that utilized native plants including California poppies and lavender while enhancing the natural appearance with hardscape, including natural stone walkways and a custom fire pit that they could enjoy as a gathering space with family and friends. One of the main challenges faced in this was the sloped terrain which called for innovative grading and drainage solutions. Our incredible team developed grading and drainage solutions to combat to problem of erosion while enhancing the beauty of the landscape. In addition, the team implemented a tiered garden in the landscape that allowed for maximum usage but also defined areas to relax, dine, and play. The selection of materials was also very high quality, utilizing locally sourced stone and an efficient irrigation system to enhance the longevity of the materials. A drip irrigation system was also installed to enable water efficiency in the landscape, while still maintaining lush greenery for all seasons. Overall, the transformation was beautiful and serenea retreat that reflected our clients’ functions, lifestyle, and created cohesion between the landscape and house. This is a true Cheviot Hills centerpiece, area for family, entering a locally sourced material, and beauty of the gardens for the community to appreciate for many years to come.
