Van Nuys - North Sherman Oaks Green Landscape Designs is thrilled to share the 'Van Nuys - North Sherman Oaks' , a fascinating landscaping that showcases our high standards of quality and creativity. This residential site, located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, inspired challenges because of the unlevel site and lack of sunlight. Our team creatively embraced the issues and introduced a series of tiered planting beds, along with clear intentions regarding tree selection to provide the look of a rich, green landscape year-round, while still thriving in partial shade. While the design encompasses a rich combination of California native plant material, drought-tolerant succulents, and flowering shrubs, the overall palette highlights the property's architectural elements. Working with high-quality materials like natural stone pathways and local mulch improve both the aesthetic and sustainability of the outdoor space. A custom-built, shaded pergola was installed as a design focal point for outdoor enjoyment, along with both an aesthetically pleasing bubbling water feature to provide ambiance, and finally, outdoor lighting to create additional detail, highlight focal points, and make the space truly usable at night. When completed, the client was amazed at the transformation of their backyard into a useable, peaceful outdoor oasis that was a perfect blend of "pretty" and usability. 'Van Nuys - North Sherman Oaks' is a perfect representation of Green Landscape Designs' goals to provide our clients with landscape spaces that are beautiful and functional, yet also designed with their unique aesthetics in mind!
