Glen Kernan Estate by Serenoa Landscape Design Located within the prestigious Glen Kernan community, this landscaping is without question a Barrett of Serenoa Landscape Design, where we take our craft to the next level in outdoor beauty. The estate is over an acre in size and features a timelessness of both native plantings and wonderful hardscapes, including outdoor living spaces designed for resting and entertaining. Our design team really wanted to create a flowing, vibrant landscape that still matched the style of the estate's intended character and enhanced upon the site’s natural beauty. Main focus as compared to other residences is a scene of wonderful drought-tolerant plants, with emphasis on perennial colors and textures as many of the trees offered either soothing shade or privacy. Natural stone paths wove throughout all areas of the property, providing a navigation path through a dramatic appearance of both color and natural materials. Compromising soil quality in parcel areas offered challenges for the designers, not in inspiration, but layers offered various issues of soil quality due to clay and drainage in misc spots across the native sands in both construction and planting spaces. Elevation design accounted for desired water flow and off the estate. The outdoor living area and fire pit (with seating) had been not developed for quite some time but now is an exquisite canvas for both intimate events under the stars. An elaborate water feature with modern reflectivity and flow was added as well to incorporate soothing sounds to the surrounding environment. We had high-grade materials (locally sourced stone and timber) for our installation process. High-grade materials or were a commitment to both durable materials and dimension, the timbers combined with nearby stones to both be smooth and offer organic blends and integrity to the site. Overall, the client process moved us both beyond his expectations, and also through beauty, discovering a landscape makes their beautiful home, the most exquisite canvas than imagined. The Glen Kernan estate certainly reflects quality of craftsmanship, commitment to the designer, for both creativity and client satisfaction - an impactful and lasting contribution to at the heart of the Glen Kernan community.
