This residential landscaping was another example of the quality and craftsmanship that are part of our values and is indicative of our experience in designing outdoor beauty for use around residential properties in Southern California. The began with a complete consultation to discuss the client’s vision and needs. A challenge of designing a usable, sloped backyard was encountered that required a well-thought-out design plan for use, while also planning for proper drainage and erosion control. With the intent of creating level areas for planting and recreational use, we designed a tiered backyard using natural stone retaining walls. We used locally sourced granite stone as the main building material, which also created different tiers across the landscape. The tiered walls also provide visual interest and stability to the landscape. Much consideration was given to sustainability while completing the . The plant material chosen during the design stage included a number of drought-tolerant and California native plantsCalifornia lilac and Agaveas the primary plant selections. These drought-tolerant plants are appropriate for the local climate while reducing demand for water usage and maintenance. A green lawn area was installed using eco-friendly sod for green use by the family without excess resource demand. Pathways were constructed using permeable pavers that allowed rainwater to filter back into the ground to nurture a thriving ecosystem. An outdoor living space was presented to the clients with a cloistered seating area with a custom-built fire pit for family enjoyment and ambiance in the evenings. Ambient lighting fixtures were placed along pathways and into the seating area to enhanced outdoor evening atmosphere while ensuring that the space could be just as enjoyable in the night as it was during the day. Wade Street is a true blend of nature and design with each component pre-planned to allow the homeowners to enjoy their style of outdoor living. Overall, the was a transformation that improved the curb appeal of the property while providing an entirely usable outdoor area for memorable family time.
