About This Project

Castle Hills Residential Retreat by LandPatterns, Inc. Located in the wonderful neighborhood of Castle Hills, LandPatterns, Inc. is most pleased to announce our completion of the Castle Hills Residential Retreat. This encompasses the unique landscapes within the community, primarily serving the busy neighborhoods of Dallas, Highland Park, Oak Lawn, Richardson, and University Park. We transformed a basic residential yard into an inspiring outdoor retreat! Nestled within the retreat are a carefully curated selection of native planting to support the local climate and provide beauty throughout the growing seasons. A primary feature is the high-quality water feature, constructed with natural stone, that flows into a pre-constructed space that can be used for both peaceful retreat and entertaining - it perfectly accommodates both! Further establishing a balance with the outdoor living space, we integrated custom outdoor lighting to illuminate a unique assortment of trees and walkways, wrapping the space in warmth for those late evening gatherings. The use of permeable pavers, along with providing high quality aesthetics, was also positive way to address the problematic drainage needs in and around the site, while incorporating reliance on natural space. Throughout the , we also wrestled with unresolved challenges associated with the slopes of the surrounding area and the quality of the soil. Employing modern soil amending protocols and strategic grading, we resolved the drainage balance needed for plant material health and aesthetics. This was done with a holistic approach to how the constructed elements of a hardscape would need to interact and integrate with the softer elements of the landscape. In the end, the clients were extremely pleased with their site, and can now experience a daily retreat space that support their company's lifestyle and increases the value of their property. The Castle Hills Residential Retreat serves as a marker of LandPatterns, Inc.'s consistency of quality, design, and customer satisfaction, and we are quite proud to include it in our body of work.
