The boasts a large patio space, constructed in the form of high-quality porcelain tile that is designed for strength and contemporary aesthetics. Utilizing large-format tiles adds to the modern feel, and helps to reduce grout lines and deliver a more seamless appearance. To further enhance the patio, a flagstone fire pit adds a natural stone element to the back yard, providing the perfect gathering place to enjoy on chilly evenings. Bruss Landscaping added plenty of native plantings around the sides to soften the hardscape. I strived to incorporate touches of color throughout the seasons with not only flowering but also in the form of ornamental shrubs and perennials but aimed for as much low maintenance as possible. A vertical garden wall strategically positioned adds green to the living space and also makes it more private and appealing. The team dealt with various challenges along the way, including uneven terrain and existing drainage problems. With a full grading plan and sustainable drainage system, this patio looks just as good as it performs in every weather condition. For the ultimate in al fresco, the final product fits the bill and then some, fulfilling the goal of the creator-client vision.
