Lakeside Living Realized by Four Seasons Garden Center & Custom Landscape, the 'Lakeside Living' accomplished an impressive redesign of the outdoor spaces of a tranquil lakeside home located in Birmingham, MI. Our dedicated team accepted the challenge of developing a scenic and functional landscape that showcases the unique beauty of the property and surrounding areas. The installation of the custom stone patio, consisting of natural limestone sourced locally, makes an ultimate hanging out spot for family and friends to gather, particularly with a fire pit adjacent to outdoor seating on cool evenings by the lake. To ensure quality design through all seasons, a selection of native plants, as well as perennials which thrive under Michigan weather, were planted to continue to add color and texture to the landscape. Another challenge we had to navigate was the height difference from the home to the lake shore. Our team designed a terraced garden with low-maintenance natural boulders to build retaining walls allowing for tiered planting beds that not only support the plantings but adds depth and dimension. This design choice opened up the useable space while adding stability to the overall design. We also added an irrigation system that can maintain and supply water efficiently to ensure the rich plant material maintains its vibrant green color and looks healthy throughout the summer. Low voltage soft-scape lights were installed along the pathways to take the homeowner through the property after sunset. In the end, 'Lakeside Living' surpassed all goals and expectations, providing the homeowner with an amazing landscape design that will increase their property value while enjoying a beautiful lakeside retreat.
