Front Yard Drought Tolerant Garden Completed by Jennifer Bromme Landscape Design At Jennifer Bromme Landscape Design, we specialize in transforming established outdoor spaces into eco-considerate, sustainable, vibrant, low-maintenance gardens that have an attainable, drought-tolerant aesthetic in the Bay Area's climate. Serving the Bay Area from Brisbane to San Jose, we were thrilled building a garden with a welcoming curb appeal that requires little water while using plants that are abundant in color and interest. The garden showcased a varied selection of native and drought-resistant plants including interesting succulents, ornamental grasses, and herbs. Each plant was purposefully cultivated to provide beauty in an arid environment, while conserving precious resources and providing wildlife habitat. The layout was designed to create visual interest in the height and textures through the seasons. In keeping with quality workmanship we incorporated appropriate materials, including permeable pavers that collected water efficiently, minimized stormwater runoff, and supported a healthy ecosystem. We implemented a beautiful dry creek bed that managed local drainage around a feature and added an attractive interest point. Lastly, we were proud to use repurposed wood for our raised beds and adhere to a sustainable design. Like any , each space presented challenges such as uneven terrain, existing hardscapes, and timid plant selections that had to be selectively removed and reused. We developed creative solutions to work around existing systems, blurring the line between natural and architecture. The end result is a stunning Front Yard Drought Tolerant Garden that supports the client's needs to meet sustainability and beauty but is also good for the environment. The client was simply in awe of the finished transformation and the juxtaposition between lushness and low-maintenance. This ultimately demonstrates the commitment of quality workmanship and that we take pride in implementing a desired garden that represents our love of creating beautiful, functional gardens while using our expertise in a landscaping environment.
