About This Project

Basics: DeCordova Event Space by Natalie DeNormandie At the DeCordova Event Space, the team at Natalie DeNormandie Landscaping took an underutilized outdoor space and created a stunning venue that merges beauty with functionality. The serves a diverse clientele in the Greater Boston area with a variety of landscapes that can accommodate both small and large events. The involved an assortment of native plantings that were purposefully selected by seasonal interest and low maintenance. Lush ornamental grasses, flowering shrubs, and evergreen trees were utilized to fashion seasonal interest year-round. Also, the team used permeable pavers to create pathways that provide access while managing water in a environmentally responsible manner, which was especially important to the client. One of the challenges of the involved integrating existing topography and drainage. The team carefully graded the site, and we put together the necessary drainage system that would keep the dirt healthy and avoid water pooling. All of this attention to detail will stand the test of time and be effective with varying weather patterns. Along with all of the excellent landscapes above, we created a stunning focal point - a custom-built pergola covered with climbing plants that provided an ideal backdrop for outdoor guests. The added ambience lighting completed the space which gave the area an additional level of intimacy from morning to evening. Overall, the exemplifies aesthetic and functionality, a combination that was well received by the clients and their guests. deCordova Event Space now remains a venue for events that speaks to the quality of work and dedication Natalie DeNormandie Landscaping puts into our work.
