Modern Desert Landscape by Green Guru Landscaping Green Guru Landscaping is proud to announce a new called the "Modern Desert Landscape", located in the beautiful neighborhood of Summerlin South. It was designed as an example of our commitment to innovative design and sustainable practices for the unique desert climate of the Las Vegas Valley. The landscape incorporates a beautiful combination of drought tolerant plants, including agave, desert marigold, and native grasses to create a palette of color that flourishes with minimal irrigation. These plants were selected specifically to thrive in a water-efficient environment, while being visually interesting and attractive to the eye. The landscape provides an atmosphere which is inviting and lush, while being conscious of our environment. In order to allow for the modern aesthetic, we also incorporated paths of pavers with a geometric shape which are permeable in nature, allowing rainfall to seep back into the ground rather than running off. This method is used to promote sustainability and to allow for modern cues to the overall landscape. Natural boulders and gravel accents were used to add dimensional interest and mimic the natural terrain of the desert. To emphasize the attractiveness of the landscape after sunset, strategically placed downlighting illuminates the outdoor space to create a tranquil evening oasis. One of the existing obstacles was the rocky terrain and existing irrigation problems. The talented Green Guru Landscaping team was able to create a method for the use of irrigation that was both state-of-the-art and water-conserving while also providing risks to nourish each plant in the landscape. After the was completed, the client was delighted with the landscape. The "Modern Desert Landscape" added curb appeal to the property, and created an outdoor space for relaxing and entertaining guests.
