Summary: Mt. Pleasant Marsh Front by REMARK Located on the picturesque waterways in Mt. Pleasant, the ‘Mt. Pleasant Marsh Front’ by REMARK is indicative of our commitment to quality landscaping and creative design. This large re-purposed an underutilized marshfront property into a colorful outdoor living area that showcases the natural beauty abundant in Charleston. The featured a hardscape component with custom stone pathways made of locally sourced tabby concrete that connect the various spaces throughout the lush native plantings. The hardscape connects spaces through the plantings creating accessible pathways that were attractive. We built in a variety of salt-tolerant grasses and flowering perennials that contribute to an exciting habitat for local wildlife, while looking good throughout the year. The interesting aspect of the was the tidal challenge of managing the landscape itself, which we did so by including innovative drainage features as part of the design. The also includes a rain garden that adds beauty and captures storm water runoff which demonstrates our dedication to sustainable solutions. The landscape itself is representative of a balance between high quality functional materials including reclaimed wood for seating and synthetic decking for the observation platforms. In the end, the has created a beautiful atmosphere combining hardscape and softscape features our client enjoys as a peaceful escape on their marsh.
